2010 Infiniti EX Review

Overview

Infiniti EX was all-new for 2008 and the 2010 Infiniti EX is mainly a carryover model from 2009. The EX is a compact luxury SUV designed to make every drive invigorating. Equipped with a smooth and strong engine, the 2010 Infiniti EX is fast in handling and acceleration. The five-passenger 2010 Infiniti EX is based on the G35 car platform. Available in Base and Journey trim levels, the Infiniti EX can be fitted with either an intelligent all-wheel or rear-wheel drive system.

Power and performance

Under its hood, the 2010 Infiniti EX has a 3.5-liter, V6 engine that generates 297 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of peak torque. A five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode is standard. The transmission helps the engine to automatically adjust speed output to smooth out shifts while downshifting. Estimated fuel economy of the rear-wheel Infiniti EX is 17/24 mpg (city/highway), while that of the Infiniti EX AWD is 16/23 mpg (city/highway).

Body and styling

Changes for 2010 include a revised option package selection and content, including the addition of Around View Monitor to the Bose and Around View Monitor Package and availability of navigation as a stand-alone package (previously part of Bose and Navigation Package) and standard heated front seats on EX35 AWD. Also, heated outside mirrors are now standard on EX35. Standard auto on/off headlights, standard Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System on EX Journey models, addition of optional Advanced Climate Control System (ACCS), addition of USB Connection Port with Infiniti Interface System for iPod (standard on all models), 2GB Music Box hard drive to the Bose Premium Audio system on vehicles without the Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation system and the # addition of Bluetooth Streaming Audio, XM NavWeather and Zagat Restaurant Guide features to the Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation system (XM subscription required, sold separately) are new for 2010. The elegant 2010 Infiniti EX offers a comfortable and entertaining cabin. Noteworthy features include Infiniti Intelligent Key that offers remote power door locks, trunk release, and window opening; dual overhead front map lights and rear seat reading lights; 8-way power driver?s seat with adjustable lumbar support and 4-way power front-passenger?s seat; multi-function trip computer with fuel mileage range and outside temperature display; 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels; and 6-speaker audio system with AM/FM radio, Radio Data System, CD player, and audio auxiliary input jack.

Safety Features

The 2010 Infiniti EX is loaded with more safety gadgets than any other compact SUV in the segment. Standard safety features on the 2010 EX models are advanced airbag system that includes dual-stage airbags with seat belt sensors and occupant-classification sensor; stability control; traction control; 3-point height-adjustable front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters; and a tire pressure monitoring system.
