 What’s New for the 2019 INFINITI QX80?

Formerly known as the QX56, the QX80 has functioned as luxury brand INFINITI’s full-size SUV since 2004. The 2019 model year arrives during the nameplate’s second production cycle, with trims now between the Luxe and the brand-new Limited. While you can choose between rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive on the Luxe, four-wheel drive is standard on the Limited. Powering the 2019 INFINITI QX80 is a 5.6-liter V8 engine, which provides 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. It is hitched to an electronically controlled 7-speed automatic transmission with Snow, Tow, and Manual Shift modes. With three rows of seats for up to seven people, the new QX80 provides 152.5 cubic feet of passenger volume. Standard cargo volume is set at 16.6 cubic feet, although you can expand it to 49.6 cubic feet with the third row folded down and 95.1 cubic feet with both second and third rows folded down. Leather-appointed seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat (both with 2-way power lumbar support), front-seat heating ability, entry/exit assist for driver’s seat and steering wheel, a dual occupant memory system, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel are standard.

On the Limited, you will be upgraded with cooled front seats, second-row heating, and quilted two-tone semi-aniline leather and Alcantara upholstery with contrast piping and stitching. Standard comfort and convenience features on the 2019 QX80 include cruise control, a smart key system (INFINITI Intelligent Key) with push-button engine ignition, remote engine start, tri-zone automatic climate control, nine cupholders and four bottle holders, an INFINITI controller, 13-speaker Bose® premium sound system, wireless remote control, Bluetooth® wireless technology, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, AM/FM radio, a single in-dash CD/DVD player with MP3 playback capability, dual USB audio ports, audio/video (AV) input jacks, SiriusXM® satellite radio service, a navigation system with lane guidance and 3D building graphics, voice recognition, four-year complimentary SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link trials, and 8-inch widescreen and VGA LCD color touchscreen displays.

The Limited stands out with additions or enhancements such as embossed “Limited” emblems, two sets of digital-quality wireless headphones and two headphone jacks, dual 8-inch color monitors for multimedia video playback, HDMI and AV USB inputs, and a 15-speaker Bose® surround-sound system. For safety and security, the 2019 INFINITI QX80 has features such as vehicle dynamic control with traction control, trailer sway control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, predictive forward collision warning, forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, an around-view camera with moving object detection and a front and rear sonar system, an anti-theft system, and four years of the INFINITI InTouch™ package of safety and security services. Also included are dual front impact airbags, dual front seat-mounted side impact airbags, and a pair of roof-mounted side curtains for all three rows. Backup collision intervention, blind spot warning and intervention, intelligent cruise control, lane departure warning and prevention, and distance control assist are added on the Limited.
